Stamford Memorial Post 9179 proudly serves Stamford, Texas and the surrounding communities by supporting veterans, promoting patriotism, assisting youth programs, and strengthening community involvement.

Our post is currently focused on rebuilding and growing for the future through community outreach, facility improvements, veteran support, and renewed local engagement. We are working to create a welcoming environment for veterans, families, Auxiliary members, and community supporters alike.

Post 9179 supports and participates in:

• Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen youth scholarship programs

The Veterans of Foreign Wars traces its roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War and Philippine Insurrection formed organizations to secure rights and benefits for returning service members. Since then, the VFW has remained one of America’s leading veteran service organizations, advocating for veterans, military families, and their communities nationwide.

Today, VFW members and Auxiliaries continue that mission through service, remembrance, youth programs, scholarships, and community volunteerism across the United States.
