The mission of Stamford Memorial Post 9179 is to serve veterans, support their families, strengthen our community, and preserve the principles of patriotism, service, and remembrance.

In keeping with the longstanding mission of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, our purpose is:

• To preserve and strengthen comradeship among veterans

• To assist worthy comrades, veterans, and their families

• To honor and perpetuate the memory of those who served and sacrificed for our nation

• To promote patriotism, citizenship, and American values within our community

• To support youth programs, education, and community service

• To maintain true allegiance to the Constitution and laws of the United States of America

• To preserve and defend the freedoms of the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic
